22 March 2022 7pm at Ralli Hall: An artist’s perspective on rewilding at Knepp Wildland

Hazel Reeves, Hove Plinth’s sculpture adviser, and over last year artist-in-residence at Knepp Wildland, has been documenting the ecological value and sculptural beauty of the Knepp scrubland across the seasons from an artist’s perspective through soundscapes (recording of birdsong), film, photography and collaboration with a movement artist and filmographer.
Hazel will talk about her time at Knepp and her related Fabrica residency, illustrated by her images and her recorded birdscapes.

16th February 7pm Ralli Hall: Close up on film: Behind the scenes at Hove Museum

Alexia Lazou from the Hove Museum will talk about how the Royal Pavilion and Museums Trust (RPMT) Film Collection was formed and look at some of the items which are not on display. A large part of the collection stems from the Barnes brothers, twin film historians; there is a cine camera owned by Hove resident Ernest Wimble, pioneer of the Workers’ Travel Association and other delights of film making.

28 April 7pm Annual Forum: Space for People – Community initiatives in Hove

The event – via zoom – will showcase a number of initiatives to improve public space in Hove by Hove Civic Society, Friends of Hove Lagoon, The George Street Project, the West Hove Junior Hedge Planting Project, and The Beeline. There will be short presentations on St Aubyns Micropark proposal, Hedge planting at West Hove Junior, Improvements around Hove Lagoon, Rejuvenating George Street, Bringing sculpture to the city and The Beeline project.
